OJJDP Delinquency Prevention Grant

The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and the Juvenile Justice Delinquency and Prevention State Advisory Group (SAG) announce the availability of delinquency prevention grant funding for fiscal year 2004-2005 for Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Formula Grant, Title II and Challenge Grant (Part E) Grant Program funding.  Title II applicants must address innovative programs in target zip codes to reduce juvenile delinquency. Challenge Grant applicant programs must address:

Expulsion and Suspension: Programs should target females who reside in a target zip codes to provide a supervised and structured environment for students during suspensions, which prevents problems that could occur while out of school.

Community Based Alternatives: Prevention programs should address females who reside in target zip codes that are most likely to become chronic juvenile offenders and who are at risk of entering the juvenile justice system.

Eligible applicants are community-based not-for-profit organizations, divisions of local government, local law enforcement agencies, faith-based organizations and for-profit companies. Proposals are due April 2, 2004, 5:00 p.m.
